About Hollie Roman

I am a writer, a master grammarian, and an experienced English teacher. I taught full-time in elite private schools for 27 years, and have also offered private instruction for just as long (actually, longer now). Although I loved teaching in the classroom, I have a very special affinity for 1:1 classes because private lessons are filled with dynamic focus, quality discussions, and a motivated spirit of teacher-student teamwork.

After the competitive pace of the classroom, I love that I can set the tone and tempo of my classes as peaceful, productive, and personalized. I believe in supporting students and parents with encouragement and fortifying them with effective and informed strategies. One of the best features of the work I do with students is the total personalization of our lessons. In all that I do, I offer specific, constructive feedback based on solid conceptual foundations. I function on a no-stress policy as much as possible, yet love that we still achieve awesome results in manageable increments.
