I’m brutally honest and don’t believe in false praise.
She is fantastic!

She was integral in the overwhelming application process. It was so daunting to us all, but she guided us through with confidence all along the way. And always with a smile. In no small part, she helped my son garner acceptance to an intensely competitive direct-med program. His successes are on her shoulders. Thank you!

Consistently goes above and beyond. She exemplifies dedication to the nth degree, putting in extra time, going the extra mile, anything to help the kids. My kids, all my nephews and nieces, and close family friends—they are all proud to be a devoted part of her “Roman Empire.”

Tremendously kind, extremely knowledgeable. She listens closely and really connects with my kids. I am always impressed with her lessons so personally tailored to each of them. So glad we found her.

I like her teaching style. Firm, fair, and fun, like a modern-day Mary Poppins, without the singing. Lol. But lots of laughter.

We dedicate our basketball games to her. She’s awesome.

Both of my sons have been coming to her for years. Even as busy teenagers, they are eager to wake up early (!) on Saturdays and look forward to attending class sessions b/c they enjoy and value their time in her tuition. Always pin-pointed material to work on. She has been more than a teacher and personal tutor; she is a very special role model.

Even though she is an expert in her academic areas, she’s not above telling me when she’s learned something from me. That always feels great.

She explains concepts and approaches patiently and thoroughly until I feel confident in completing assignments on my own.

Worth every penny! You get what you pay for, and more. In fact, an invaluable bargain in the price-value weigh-in.

I loved math and hated English class. I used to dread any and all writing assignments. I had some thoughts in my head, but I just couldn’t transition them onto paper. I was frustrated and hated it. With what she calls her “painless essay” guidance, she helped me get my ideas on paper effectively. Slowly, I began to see that I could do it, and that with effort, I could write well. Things started to click. I would understand focus ideas, my grades improved, I became proud of my work. I still love math, but I’d even say that I enjoy writing now, all thanks to Mrs. Roman.

We waited for years until she had an open spot for my daughter. Once the spot opened up, we never let it go. My daughter went to her from 7th grade until she went off to college, then we passed her spot down to my son as a freshman. He’s entering his junior year now. We won’t give up his spot until after he’s settled in his college dorm room in a couple of years. If we had more kids, we’d save it for them. Her tuition is a coveted treasure.

I don’t like reading at all, but she somehow makes literature fun.

She’s the teacher you never forget. I don’t know if she even realizes how far-reaching her impact is in my life, like a bell whose echo lingers.

For Christmas we gave her an angel ornament for her tree, because she has been an angel to our family.

Excited about teaching; never stops learning and sharing that excitement. Loves what she does, and it shows. Every time.

If I’d had a teacher like her while I was growing up, I’d be a very different person now. A far better one, I believe.

I just wanted to give you one last big thank you for helping me with SAT prep classes and the whole college application process. Thanks to you, I got into all seven of the colleges I applied to. Thanks for all your help and have a happy New Year!

Mrs. Roman…. students who get your guidance are so lucky. They are blessed!! I myself as a parent am blessed that my child got a “Guru” like you in her most precious time of her life.

If all teachers shared her passion, competence, and insight, our education system would be indomitable!

I did my undergrad in engineering, earned two Master’s degrees, and a doctorate in law. I have worked with all kinds of academics and am myself a professor now. Yet the one person I consider most influential throughout my education is Mrs. Roman from all those years ago. Her lessons, kindness, and humor continue to resonate with me even still. I consider myself most fortunate to have been in her classes.

From the bottom of my heart, I really want to thank you for all the warm encouragement, constructive feedback, and cool language terms you introduced to me; as well as the grammar and writing tips you shared to help me grow as a writer. You are incredibly kind, warm-spirited, thoughtful and I am so, so happy that I had the opportunity to be one of your students!!!!!!!!! I learned so much from your classes and loved every second of it. I will always challenge myself to find an effective way to word my sentences, write with stronger diction, and improve the construction of my ideas and flow to better express myself– which has made writing all the more fun for me!!!!!! I am truly grateful for all the ways you have helped me to grow.

I studied with her for years. I looked forward to our lessons, but many times I just looked forward to talking with her– about assignments, about literature, and about life. I enjoyed our intellectual, academic discussions as well. I was extremely shy growing up, but I felt so comfortable in sharing my ideas with her, especially through my writing since she would carefully include me while she expertly edited my work. Even years later, I still get excited to contact her when I’ve accomplished something new. She has been more than a teacher to me; I feel she has become a life-long friend. My parents and I consider her part of the family. A very special part
